If circumstances were different do you think you would?
For sure! I would possibly not cross the cultural divide, but possibly look at a child with special needs – I have always loved special needs children, and as challenging as I know it would be, it would definitely be something that I would consider if my circumstances were different,
Now that’s an interesting spin. Special needs children are probably the hardest to find a home for. Thanks for raising that. I don’t think I would be able to adopt a special needs child.
I have two kiddies and we’d love another. Due to a traumatic birth of my second child and almost losing my life and my daughter, we have decided that in time we’d like to adopt. And already being a cross cultural family, we wouldn’t mind a baby of colour.

So if you adopt, what do you think your time-frame would be? Does “in time” mean it’s open-ended?
As you read on our blog earlier, we’re currently looking to adopt cross-culturally. We will also most likely be adopting special needs.

I have not given adoption much thought in the past as we were blessed with children without any problem (as you have no doubt noticed), so from a purely theoretical point of view if things were not quite so easy for us, adoption would possibly have been an option. But given the political situation at the time, adoption across cultural boundaries would not have been allowed by the authorities.
Anyway, I enjoy your missive and look forward to the next……..
